Why You Should Consider Becoming a Texas Realtor

by A Guest Author

As people are more frequently being laid off from their jobs or realizing that the term “job security” is obsolete, more and more people are turning to ways to make money on their own.  With that being said, I would like to talk about one way to make money that is becoming more and more popular, and that is becoming a real estate agent.  Selling real estate may seem overly difficult due to the fact that people are becoming more conservative with their spending.  While this is true, real estate prices are also a lot cheaper, and what is happening is people are selling their homes in more expensive parts of the country and settling for less expensive homes in another part of the country.  This is exactly what is happening in the state of Texas.  Becoming a realtor in Texas might be a great move for you, and here is why many people are moving there:

No State Income Tax

Texas does not have any state income tax, and depending on how much your salary is, this could mean hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars per month saved.  Just figure out how much of your current check is taken out from your current state, and that will equal your savings.

Low Cost of Real Estate

Texas, historically, has had some of the best prices on real estate in the entire nation.  Just do a search online, and you will see what I mean.  For this reason alone, people are realizing that they can move to Texas, and without lowering their standard of living, they can significantly reduce their cost of living.

Some of the Best Public Schools

Mansfield, Texas, part of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex – as it’s called, has been voted has having the best public schools in the entire nation.  As a parent, this should be a huge determining factor over where you decide to plant you and your family.

So for these reasons alone, Texas is booming and real estate can’t seem to be built fast enough.  Needless to say there is an ever increasing demand for realtors.  Now getting your license can be done by attending classes, or, if you would like to get certified to sell real estate in Texas, even though you currently live out of state, then you can do so by taking online classes.  In either case, this may be a field worth considering.
