Dear Future University Student,

You just found so much more than what you were probably looking for. In the next few minutes, you are about to get THE BEST information about transferring from community college to university. But first, I must say…

Congratulations!

The fact that you found this page means you are exploring possibilities and thinking keenly about your future.

You should be commended for your desire and initiative to rise above your peers and create a successful future for yourself.

But you should not let this end with mere desire.

This desire to better yourself should be initial building block of you succeeding academically and securing a promising career in whatever field you choose.

Now, for the 5 biggest questions about transferring from community college to university…

Question #1: Should I Go To

Community College First?

High school students are expected to know what they want to do, realize the importance of the SATs, and then gain acceptance to a top university or a four-year college. They leave home, live on their own, and are supposed to succeed in college. Most high school students don’t have that kind of a plan. Because they don’t know what they want, they are not motivated to score well on the SATs. Some students don’t have the maturity to deal with the pressures of college life. Some students are just late bloomers.

If you can relate to any of the above, have financial constraints or need a fresh start, you should go to a community college.

Question #2: Is It Better To

Go To Community College

First?

Let me tell you a quick story. One of my best friends went to a respectable tier 1 business school (that he wishes to keep private). He spent his first two years of college in large lecture halls with over 200 cut-throat-competitive students, and hard to reach professors. Towards the end of his sophomore year, he was frustrated with his education. He had already spent upwards of $80,000 in loans and felt like he was getting “ripped off.” Thankfully for my friend, he was able to switch to a new major. Unfortunately, he will have to do an extra semester.

Now, if my friend attended community college with the plan I laid out in The 3 Word Truth To Attending Community College And Transferring, he would have been in class with no more than 30 students who were willing to work together, and a professor that wants to see him succeed. He would have spent only about $7,000 over two years and had more flexibility to figure out or change what he wants he wants to do. Then, he would transfer to the same university or better as a junior. The students would be more mature. The classes would be smaller (because they are focused towards his major). And finally, he would graduate with the same degree, at half-price, and two networks of friends (more on this later).

Unless you are 110% sure about what you want to do, it is better to go to community college first.

Question #3: Is Going To

Community College Bad?

Community colleges help turn around lives year after year. They are the best opportunity offered to your community-hence community college. You will find some students that are not as serious about their education, but, you have the freedom to choose who you make friends with. If you choose to hangout with the wrong crowd and not seize the opportunity that community college offers you, then yes, going to community college is bad.

On the other hand, when you go to community college, follow the steps in The 3 Word Truth To Attending Community College And Transferring, and transfer to an Ivy League university-you’ll say that going to community college isn’t so bad. In fact, you’ll probably say it was the best decision you ever made.

As it was for me, community college can be a wonderful place to grow academically and socially-if you follow the right steps.

Question #4: What About My

Social Life At Community

College?

Going to community college, I met friends that I will have for a lifetime. There is no doubt that you can have a very active and fun social life while at community college. In The 3 Word Truth To Attending Community College And Transferring, I talk about specific actions you can take to meet the right people and make loads of friends. The only issue you will have is saying “no” to too many plans.

Additionally, after transferring from community college to NYU, I met a new group of friends that I will have for life. I realized that going to community college actually gave me double the friends I would have had going straight to a university. Now, I have two networks of friends-one from community college and one from NYU-that is sure to benefit me in my near future.

Question #5: What Do I Need

To Transfer To University?

Warning: reading this will suck (but I will make it up to you)…

Assuming you want to transfer to a university that offers the best paying jobs, vast opportunities, most powerful networks, etc. – you want to be one of the top students at your community college, not just in popularity, but with your grades as well. You’re probably going to want to retake your SATs (unless you have above a 2100, then I think you’re okay). And you need an effective transfer application – one that doesn’t get tossed aside with the pile of rejected transfer applicants.

However, here’s where I make it up to you: becoming the top student, cracking the SATs and writing an effective transfer application really isn’t that hard – actually, it can be pretty easy and rewarding if you know what to do by following a plan that works, like The 3 Word Truth To Attending Community College And Transferring…

In the next few minutes, I’ll prove to you that almost anyone can become the top student, score extremely well on the SATs and succeed in transferring from community college to ivy league and tier 1 universities…

I was not the homecoming king. I was not the valedictorian. Although I wasn’t at the bottom of the class, I wasn’t at the top either. I played hockey but I wasn’t very good at it.

In short, I was an okay kid, an average joe.

As I went to community college, I was fortunate enough to have befriended, Dan, a sophomore who was also the student trustee. He was doing great for himself and had been accepted to Rice University, UPenn and a number of other great schools I would never have dreamed getting into myself.

As I got to know Dan, I found out something about him that took my completely by surprise.

Dan was an average student just like me!

Being the student trustee, winning all the scholarships and collecting all the awards he did, along with the university acceptances he received, I’ve was positive that he was always a straight A student.

I couldn’t be more wrong!

And that’s when he told me his secret.

A secret passed down to him by another “average joe” (named Josh) who had gone on to continue his studies at UPenn after having been accepted at several other prestigious universities such as Cornell, UVA, and USC.

In short, I was third in the line of “average joes” to have the opportunity to apply this “secret” and reap great success with it…
