I Look Like a Tramp at College

by A Guest Author

One of the problems with being financially challenged at college is that fashion has to take a very big back seat. I have one suitcase of clothes that contain everything I need to wear until I return home. With the best will in the world it will only be a few days before people realize that my clothes selection is very small and very cheap too. Jeans and T shirts are it.

I do have two pairs of Walmart trainers and a cheap pair of shoes. There is no way this selection of fashion is going to allow me to pull any of these beautiful girls. Add the fact that what I do have never looks great on me, as I am a little (just a little) on the plump side. Therefore things crumple more, and just look so unfashionable. My skinny mates can put anything on and they look great. It is so annoying.

Other guys with a similar body size to me have more designer clothing. They look great. They look really great in fact. This only makes me feel worse as I know if I had some nice clothes I would look as god as them. They ( I hate them), go out with girls and the “in crowd”, whilst I stay at the room trying to insist that my essay editing is more important than going out for a great night of drinks, booze and girls.

Just outside the college several second hand shops have appeared selling boutique style second hand clothes. I was surprised to find that they actually cater for guys too. Even more surprising is that some of the “bigger” clothes are cheaper. I guess the typical student shape of slim to skinny is in more demand. Luckily for me I managed to buy some cool waistcoats for just a few dollars. Both came with sort of Hawaii style long-sleeved shirts. I also found a cool yellowish pair of pants. Nope not the sort a clown wears.

That Friday night I dressed up in all my new gear and went to the student bar. Nobody, but nobody commented at all on my change of appearance. But I did seem to be slightly more popular as I was invited to join a table of guys and gals for the rest of the evening. The beer flowed, and the laughs came. This was the very first time that I had not felt like a second class citizen or an outsider within college.

My time at college improved because of a few dollars spent on some clothes from a secondhand shop. Now I do not say essay editing is more important at all to my need to go out and be sociable. So if anyone is in a similar position, just go check out some second hand shops. You never know.

Good way of explaining, and pleasant piece of writing to take facts concerning my presentation topic, which i am going to convey in school.
