The best thing you can do in the morning is start by doing something that you love. This could be going for a job, walking the dogs, doing yoga or catching a few waves, if you live by the ocean. When you begin your day in a positive way, it is more likely to carry on throughout the day. Getting up earlier may be rough the first few days, but after that, you won’t even need the alarm clock, and you will look forward to it.

Address Your Diet – You should know by now that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating a sugary donut is going to do nothing but cause your blood sugar levels to spike and crash, resulting in a sour mood. Eat a healthy breakfast, and rather than hitting the vending machine, make sure you have nutritious snacks in your desk, briefcase, work truck etc. The more stable you keep your blood sugar levels throughout the day the more balanced your mood will remain.

Stay in the Moment – If you have a boss who dumps a ton of work on your desk, it is easy to instantly feel overwhelmed and hateful of the fact that you are even there. Forget the work and concentrate on the task at hand. When you stay focused, you won’t get so lost in the big picture.

Plan Your Day – Although sometimes it is not possible to plan every aspect of your day, and other times there are tasks added, you can usually at least plan the bulk of your day. If you know what you need to take care of, create a schedule and do the hardest and most time-consuming tasks first. Make a list every morning and as you complete tasks, physically check them off the list. Seeing a paper full of checkmarks is rewarding and motivational.

Delegate – Are you someone who takes on way to much because you just don’t feel someone else is capable of doing the job you can? While you very well may be right, you are also driving yourself insane. There are always tasks that can be delegated, unless of course you are the lowest man on the totem pole. Then you may just need to learn to ask for help.

Leave Work Behind – When you walk out the door, leave work there. Don’t focus on how irritated someone made you for your entire drive home or you will be just angry by the time you get home. When you get off work, have something to do. This could be meeting a friend for a walk or catching a yoga class down the road. This will allow you to enjoy your time off and reduce stress, which of course translates to better health, and your free life insurance quotes may very well become more affordable.
