Here are seven tools to help you when transferring from community college to Ivy League.

1. Your Academic Planner

In any academic environment, organization is key. Planners are like your dashboard to college. They give you an idea of when classes are assigning a lot of work, getting harder and when many classes have multiple assignments due at the same time which means you need to start working ahead.

You should treat your planner like your sidekick.

Planners are extremely important because the help you keep track of your classes assignments, papers, exams and Ivy League transfer deadlines!

Without having a probably organized planner, you're very likely to miss an assignment  or not prepare for an exam that you really could've prepared for well in advance - or worse, you could miss a crucial Ivy League transfer deadline.

This is a first and most important tool that you can use when transferring from community college to Ivy League - get a planner and use it well.

2. Your Computer

Next is your laptop or PC, this is probably the most important piece of equipment that you'll use throughout your college career. Whether you're at community college or transferring to Ivy League, your computer should always be ready to go with the proper software to write papers, create high quality presentations, and fill out those tedious spreadsheets.

Regardless if you're using a Mac or a PC, you'll definitely want to have Microsoft office installed on your computer so that you're ready to go when it comes to academics.

3. Your Printer at Home

Unless you plan on going to the library every time you need to print something, definitely have a ready to use printer stocked with plenty of ink that you can use at so that when you finish that paper and you need to have something in printed, you have ink in it.

Having little things ready to go and prepared such as having a printer ready with ink will help you get more work done quicker and easier leading to you being more productive as you work a you go for a 4.0 GPA at community college in order to transfer to an Ivy League university.

4. Your Real-Life College Textbooks

It's pretty obvious that any community college transfer student will need a textbook or two. But, I want to make this point very clear because textbooks are changing, especially college textbooks.

With college textbooks being so expensive, many students are opting for a cheaper version of the textbook by buying online and buying digital copies of the textbook.

I strongly suggest that you buy your textbooks in print.

You're already saving thousands of dollars by transferring from community college to Ivy League.

Saving an extra $20 by purchasing a digital copy of the textbook isn't going to be a very big difference. However, having the original hardcopy textbook in your hand will help you to study a lot better than trying to flip pages on the computer from my PDF file.

Plus, if you are serious about studying hard at community college, I strongly suggest getting your text books in print and not in a digital copy.

Some of you who really want to save some money on your way from community college Ivy League, definitely feel free to rent your text books or sell them back to the bookstore but make sure that your textbooks are in print.

In community college as well as in the Ivy League universities, you're going to have to write a lot of papers, especially research papers.
