As a matter of fact, they are the stepping stones leading to university education.

Community colleges tend to form the foundation for most of the job fields in the market today but this not how most people in the field view them. To many, anything less than a university degree cannot go far. Taking the example of nursing as a faculty, one can see that the community colleges are by far more effective. Community colleges normally provide associate degrees in nursing. Theses associate degrees entail more rigorous courses that offer a broader form of experience than that offered in the bachelor of nursing degree course. However, when looking for a job, the associate degree will prove to be less effective. Most hospitals look for nothing less than a degree. What happens is that the degree tends to increase the chances of one getting a job, but it does not in any way give you a better understanding of the job unlike with the community college associate degree.

Having that in mind, the best alternative for not only the nursing course but all sorts of fields, is to first go to community college then university. On the other hand, the degree will highly increase your chances of getting a job easily.

This group includes those who have been out of school for a while then decide to continue with their studies. It also includes those who got both top and slightly lower grades in high school. Universities only deal with those who get top grades in high school, of which only a handful manages to get such grades. Community colleges are here to provide the rest with equal opportunities. By going to community college then university, such individuals get even better chances of getting top jobs in the market than university graduates.
