Technology Makes Community College Education Smoother

by Chad Agrawal

Technology is changing the world every day, and it has reached into every part of society. The impact on businesses has been dramatic and very clear. In a short span of time, people went from selling things in the fashion that was used for hundreds of thousands of years to selling them online and shipping them all around the world. The realm of education has also been impacted, perhaps even more than business. The changes to the way that people learn have been incredible. As is explored below, there have even been changes to the way that people enroll at the schools where they want to begin learning.

To start with, you have to look at how online school administration software like Vocado has made it very easy to community college transfer from one school to the next. A person who spent two years at a community college, taking the general education courses, can have their transcript and all of their information sent to the college of their choice. If they switch to that school, their records will be complete from the first day that they are on campus. This makes it easy for them to integrate themselves into this new environment, allowing them to thrive at any university in the world.

In community college classes, technology is everywhere. Computers are used to show movies and videos to the class. Online forums are used so that community college classmates can post observations about readings or laboratory tests. Other classmates can then respond and conversations can begin. There are even whole classes that just take place online, where all of the lectures are posted as videos and all of the discussions take place in forums. These lack the physical social contact of a traditional classroom, but they also save students and professors alike a lot of time and money.

When they are doing research, students in the modern era use technology more than anything else. Why would they go to a library when they can just look books up on the Internet? Why would they watch movies on VCRs and televisions when they can watch them online? When a student used to write a paper, he would go to the library with books, pens, pencils, sheets of paper, and many other items. Now, he just has to sit down in his room with a computer, and he can do all of the same things.

All in all, technology is really making the community college education process smoother than it has ever been before. Students can communicate in whole new ways that are fast and efficient. They can community college transfer between schools without any confusion. They can look up anything that they need to know in seconds instead of hours. The result is that they are able to learn more, to do more, and to take more classes in the same amount of time. The world of education has been changed forever by technology, and it will be very interesting to see how new changes, things that have not yet been imagined, continue this process.
